Honey

Since ancient times, honey has been used as a medicine. The Chinese, Egyptians, Romans and Greeks used it in combination with other types of herbs to heal wounds and intestinal diseases. The use of honey in medicine has continued to the present day, being commonly used for colds and sore throats. Honey contains amino acids and antioxidants, including a series of components with antioxidant properties: phenolic compounds, flavonoids, vitamin C, and more, which are provided by plants whose nectar and pollen have been harvested by bees.

Face Cleanser

Using honey as a facial cleanser helps to remove dirt and prevent the skin overproducing oil. Honey is gentle on your skin and can give your skin more natural elasticity.

Suitable for All Skin Types

Honey is gentle and suitable for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin.

Antibacterial

Honey plays a role in preventing the presence of bacteria on the skin. It is a gentle skin cleanser that can reduce breakouts and prevent acne.

Refines the Skins Texture

Honey has natural enzymes that can make your skin more youthful and healthier. It is often recommended as a moisturizer for dry skin.

Balances Oily Skin

One of the benefits of honey for skin is the way it can balance oily skin. Unlike other cleansers, honey will not dry out your skin, but rather will leave it moisturized, nourished and elastic, without causing irritation.

Balances Skin PH

Honey helps to balance the skin's naturally acidic PH. This is important as the skin needs to have normal PH to prevent excess of bacteria. Commercial cleansers are often alkaline, which may negatively impact your skin's healthy microbiome. Honey as a cleanser is gentle and all-natural and does not strip away your skin's essential oils.

Natural Antiseptic

Honey is naturally antioxidant and antiseptic. It prevents bacterial growth which can lead to acne and other skin conditions.

Exfoliates

Honey in your cleanser can remove dead skin, regenerate skin cells and exfoliate skin resulting in brighter and clearer skin.

Eczema

Honey cleansers help in the recovery of the eczematous skin by moisturizing, restoring the skin barrier, reducing itching, and regulating inflammation. Honey cleansers also soothe irritated and itchy skin due to any cause. Honey for dry skin and eczema-prone skin are an excellent alternative to harsh commercial surfactants and cleansers. The use of honey might reduce the need for steroids as well.

Wounds

Honey can speed up the healing process of wounds, burns, and rashes, and soothe pain and swelling resulting from conditions like Eczema. Honey cleansers moisturize the skin as well. These benefits are caused by the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of honey.

Anti-Ageing

The vitamin C in honey can help control signs of ageing by making your skin look fresh, youthful, plump and firm. Honey can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines, tone your skin and tighten your pores. Vitamin C in honey also increases collagen production, improving the skin's texture and leaving you feeling cleaner and smoother.

Antioxidant

Honey helps fight off infections and flush out toxins from your skin. One of the biggest benefits of honey for skin is its richness in antioxidants that protect the body from oxidative stress and damage from harmful free radicals and are believed to play a role in protecting the body from heart disease, diabetes and some cancers.

Sunburns

Like Aloe Vera, Honey can hydrate, soothe and speed up the healing process of skin burned by the sun.
