Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus oil is derived from the leaves of eucalyptus trees. This oil may also boost production of ceramide, a fatty acid that helps to retain moisture in the skin. Known for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and pain-killing qualities, this oil is used medicinally for analgesic, anti-catarrhal, expectorant, antispasmodic, insecticidal and antiviral purposes.

Eucalyptus oil is anti-inflammatory and can reduce symptoms of eczema, acne and many other skin conditions.

Eucalyptus is a natural pest and insect repellent, without the harmful chemicals found in commercial pest repellents.

Eucalyptus leaves are rich in antioxidants, containing flavonoids that protect the body from oxidative stress and damage from harmful free radicals. The primary flavonoids found in eucalyptus leaves are all compounds believed to play a role in protecting the body from heart disease and some cancers, as well as offering several benefits to the skin.
